Important in Medicine because…

·         Louis Pasteur discovered GERMS. Germs cause disease.

·         He was able to prove his germ theory in 1860-1

·         He thought germs lived in the air.

·         Pasteur was unlucky – France was defeated in 1870, Pasteur suffered a stroke, and lost three members of his family.
